Charles Leclerc (born 16 October 1997) is a Monégasque racing driver, currently driving in Formula One for Ferrari. Leclerc won the GP3 Series championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017.
Leclerc won the GP3 Series of 2016, with 3 wins during the season. He beat Alexander Albon of Thailand to the title by 25 points with the title secured at the first race at Abu Dhabi. He was rewarded for this by a drive for FIA Formula 2 in 2017 which he also won, becoming the first driver to win both championships.
Leclerc won his first F1 Grand Prix at the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix, becoming the youngest race winner for Ferrari, the first Monegasque F1 race winner and the 108th different Grand Prix winner in F1, as well as the second driver to have raced in the GP3 Series to win a Grand Prix, after Valtteri Bottas. He dedicated his victory to his closest friend, fellow racer and 2018 GP3 Series champion Anthoine Hubert, who died during the Formula 2 race the day before.
